OWS RACING OIL

Think all motor oils are created equally? Then OWS, a leading German manufacturer of lubricants and garage products wants you to think again. OWS specialises in mixing up what could be considered 'boutique' blends of additives and synthetic oils to ensure maximum performance. The company's latest product is a hybrid engine oil. Manufactured using nano-technology, OWS' Uber Power Racing Spec engine oils promise wear and heat protection greater than what you'd get from a 5W60 oil, but with the free-revving and fuel efficient characteristics of a lightweight 0W20 oil. OWS also claims excellent oil temperature and pressure control under extreme conditions, like those typically experienced by drivers who take their cars out on the racetrack. It all seems too good to be true, but OWS stands by its products, and says that users should expect noticeable horsepower and torque gains on top of the added wear protection. The company even goes as far as guaranteeing a five percent fuel savings. OWS' Uber Power Racing Oil comes in two variants, for both turbocharged and normally aspirated engines. CarBuyer put the Turbo Racing Engine oil to the test, using a Mk V Volkswagen Golf GTI.The oil change was carried out by VW specialists, CAG Auto, in Paya Ubi Industrial Park. After an engine 'shampoo' using OWS's specially formulated engine cleaner, the new oil and an engine protector compound were poured in. OWS also threw in a bonus in the form of the company's proprietary fuel system cleaning agent. The results were immediately noticeable. The GTI's engine felt considerably smoother, with little discernable vibration at idle or with partial application of throttle from standstill. It seemed much more eager to rev, too. These improvements alone would've been worth the cost of all the OWs products, but in addition, the GTI's mid-range torque curve also seemed to have been filled out. OWS has dyno-ed cars before and after application of the company's prodcuts and recorded performance gains. You might argue that all cars feel better after an oil change but this GTI had just been serviced two weeks before. A service that included a complete oil change that didn't elicit nearly the same effects.
